RockRooster

Accessibility Statement

Statement date: 28 October 2026 Last reviewed: 28 October 2026

RockRooster is committed to making www.rockrooster.com.au usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. This statement describes our accessibility target, the measures in place today, the limitations we know about, and how to tell us about a problem.

1. Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the W3C. We treat this as the benchmark for new development and for remediation of existing pages.

2. Conformance status

The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means some content does not yet fully meet the standard. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we do not claim full or certified conformance.

3. Measures in place

  • Structure and semantics. Pages use HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), a single h1 per page followed by a logical heading order, and descriptive link text rather than “click here”.
  • Language and metadata. Every page declares lang="en" and a descriptive title, so screen readers and translation tools can process it correctly.
  • Images. Product, collection and article images carry text alternatives derived from the product or collection name; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Keyboard operation. We aim to keep navigation, including the desktop dropdown menus and the mobile menu toggle, operable from the keyboard, with the mobile menu reporting its expanded state to assistive technology.
  • Visible focus and contrast. Interactive elements retain a visible focus indicator, and we aim for colour contrast that meets AA requirements for body text and primary controls.
  • Responsive and zoom-friendly layout. Content reflows at small widths and remains usable when zoomed to 200%, without loss of content or function.
  • Forms. Enquiry form fields use associated labels and submit errors are reported in text.

4. Known limitations

We are working through the following. None of them blocks access to core product information or to our enquiry channels:

  • Legacy product descriptions. Some product descriptions were migrated from our previous Shopify store and retain historical markup. We are progressively rewriting them; where formatting is imperfect, the content itself remains available as text.
  • Downloadable catalogues. PDF catalogues are not yet fully tagged for screen readers. An accessible alternative — specifications supplied by email or in an accessible document — is available on request.
  • Image detail. Where a source image carried no description, its alternative text is limited to the product name. Detailed descriptions are available on request.
  • Third-party embeds. Controls in embedded video players and social widgets are provided by those third parties and are outside our direct control.

5. Disclaimer

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RockRooster makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, that the Site or its content is or will remain fully accessible or free of accessibility barriers, and we disclaim any such warranty.

Without limiting the foregoing:

  • Accessibility may vary depending on the browser, device, plug-ins, versions and assistive technologies you use, and we cannot guarantee identical behaviour across all combinations.
  • Content hosted or embedded by third parties (for example video players, social widgets and content served from third-party domains) is provided under the respective provider’s terms and is outside our control.
  • We may change the Site at any time, and accessibility characteristics may change with it. We undertake to keep this statement reasonably up to date, but it is not a guarantee of any particular outcome.

Nothing in this statement creates any contractual obligation, and it does not affect statutory rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

6. Assessment approach

This statement is based on a self-assessment combining manual review of representative templates (home, collection, product, article and legal pages) with automated checks for common WCAG failures. We reassess when templates change materially, and at least annually.

7. Feedback

If you encounter a barrier, need content in an alternative format, or want to report an accessibility problem, contact our team. Please include the page address and a short description of the issue.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to tell you what we will do and when. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to your national equality or accessibility authority.
