Cookie Policy
Effective date: 28 October 2026 Last updated: 28 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how RockRooster (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.rockrooster.com.au (the “Site”). It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information generally.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site recognise a device over time, remember settings, and measure how the site is used. Similar technologies — including local storage, pixels and device identifiers — work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy where we use them.
Cookies may be first-party (set by the site you visit) or third-party (set by another service whose content the site loads). They may be session cookies, deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, retained for a defined period.
2. Which cookies we use
The Site is a business-to-business information and enquiry channel. It has no user accounts, no shopping cart and no checkout, and therefore uses no login, cart or session cookies.
In summary, we use the following types of cookies:
| Category | Set by | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Google Analytics (first-party) | Distinguishing visitors and measuring site usage | Up to 2 years |
| Embedded media | YouTube (Google) | Video playback, measurement and, where enabled, video preferences | A few months, or the browsing session |
We do not use advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run advertising pixels.
The exact cookies, their names and their lifetimes may change as our providers update their technologies. Analytics cookies are set only where the corresponding script is loaded; embedded-media cookies are set only when you play an embedded video.
3. Why we use non-essential cookies
We use analytics cookies to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful, how visitors find the Site, and where the Site fails. Embedded-media cookies support video playback. Neither is used to profile individuals or to make decisions about them.
4. Consent and how your choice is stored
Non-essential cookies are off until you turn them on. On your first visit we show a consent banner offering Accept all (analytics and embedded media) or Essential only. Analytics is not loaded and embedded video is not played until you accept.
Your choice is recorded locally in your browser, together with the time it was made, and is retained for up to 12 months, after which we ask again. It is not a cookie sent to our servers and it contains no personal identifiers.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:
- Cookie Settings in the footer of any page reopens the banner; or
- Clear site data or cookies in your browser (see section 5).
Withdrawing consent stops further non-essential loading from that point. It does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal, and does not affect strictly necessary functions.
5. How to control cookies
Browser controls. All major browsers let you view, block, delete or clear cookies, and set rules per site. Guidance is published by Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Microsoft Edge in their respective help centres. Blocking analytics cookies does not prevent you from browsing the Site or submitting an enquiry.
Google Analytics opt-out. Google publishes a browser add-on that disables Google Analytics measurement across sites: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Embedded video. Embedded video is blocked until you accept media cookies. Once accepted, video loads on the pages that contain it; the player controls are provided by YouTube.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. There is no common industry standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” signals. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, where detected, as an objection to non-essential processing.
6. Third-party providers
Our analytics and embedded-media providers act as independent controllers or processors for the cookies they set, and their own policies govern their use. Relevant policies are published by Google at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies and policies.google.com/privacy. We do not control these providers’ cookies and are not responsible for changes to them.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes or as providers change their technologies. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on the Site. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
8. Contact us
